UNTHA RS30/RS40 – compact shredder for workshop and recycling

The RS30 and RS40 are UNTHA’s smallest four-shaft shredder models, developed for the wood industry and light industrial recycling. Despite their compact size, they deliver impressive performance and are well suited for businesses looking to integrate shredding directly into their production line without large space requirements.

The four-shaft system automatically draws material into the cutting chamber without the need for a hydraulic ram. Low rotational speed combined with high torque means the machines operate quietly with minimal dust emissions – a clear advantage in workshop environments. Maintenance requirements are very low, and central lubrication is included as standard.

UNTHA is the only manufacturer in this class to offer a 3-year warranty – or 2,000 operating hours, whichever comes first. This speaks to the robustness of the construction and the confidence the manufacturer has in its own machines. Automatic reversing is built in to prevent motor overload with demanding materials.

Applications

Wood processing: The RS series handles both hardwood and softwood, bark, OSB and MDF boards, chipboard as well as pallets and production waste. The machines are well suited for sawmills, furniture workshops and other wood-processing businesses looking to reduce and recycle waste volumes efficiently.

Recycling: Beyond the wood industry, the RS30/RS40 is used for shredding documents and hard drives, dashboards, banknotes and other confidential material, as well as plastic film, metal shavings and similar light industrial waste. The four-shaft principle delivers a controlled and uniform fragment without the need for pre-processing.
